What is it?

Insulation boarding is used to keep heat inside your property. The insulation boards, which are usually made from polyurethane or polystyrene, are installed behind the walls of your loft room and in gaps between joists. This will prevent the space from being overly affected by changes in the outside temperature and will ensure that you are not paying through the nose for heat that just escapes through your roof.

How will it work?

The insulation boarding between your rafters will trap the warm air in your property and offer you protection against the cold outside. It will create a completely waterproof barrier and prevent warm air from rising through your property and making its escape through your roof.

How will the insulation be installed?

This will all depend on whether or not you have already converted the area in your loft or not. If you already use your loft as living space then the insulation boarding will be cut to size and placed beneath your walls. To do this, we may need to remove roof tiles or the ceiling. Another choice is to add an extra layer to your ceiling to accommodate the insulation but this would depend on the head room available.

If you have not converted yet your loft then you can have installation boards installed as part of the conversion project. roof insulation can provide.

Does it need to be professionally installed?

We would always recommend that you this installed by experienced experts, such as our team members. This will ensure that you receive the maximum benefits and do not encounter issues that could prove costly to put right.

Installation should take no more than a day and you can start feeling the benefits almost immediately.
